Lara Logan, a top reporter for CBS was sexually assaulted in Egypt in the hands of a mob. Logan was in Cairo's central Tahrir Square on Friday, the day Hosni Mubarak resigned, and was separated from her crew in the crowd, the US television network said in a statement. Perhaps, this assault was planned by Pro-Mubarak supporters in order to discredit the movement. Either way, it's a disgusting and vile attack. On a side note, some sites are mispelling Logan's first name. Her name is not Laura Logan, but Lara Logan.

Four days before being savagely attacked, the foreign correspondent for CBS, Lara Logan gave this interview to Charlie Rose in which she discussed how she knew the risks of making the information in Egypt, but why she felt compelled to return

In the crush of the mob, she was separated from her crew. She was surrounded and suffered a brutal and sustained sexual assault and beating before being saved by a group of women and an estimated 20 Egyptian soldiers. She reconnected with the CBS team, returned to her hotel and returned to the United States on the first flight the next morning. She is currently in the hospital recovering.
